Squiding Charters

Calamari Squid are common in the Port Stephens / Broughton Island area, great fun to catch and even better on the dinner plate. Smaller squid when fished live are at the pinnacle of successful baits when chasing kingfish and mulloway with larger specimens to 3 kg filling tubs in no time at all.

Dedicated squidding charters are a new concept which we are now offering to diversify into something different and quite unique in charter fishing.

Squid are mostly found over sea grass and weed beds in shallow, protected water so these charters will be mostly in smooth waters and therefore more suitable to those who enjoy calm water fishing.
Squid are known to feed at sunrise and sunset and at night but can also be found in daylight hours.

Initially we are offering a 7 hour charter, departing Nelson Bay at 1500 hrs and returning at 2200 hrs.

This trip will mostly be to Broughton Island where there are many suitable areas for squidding in the sheltered bays at sunset and into the night.

Boat price of $1800 for up to 12 people but feel free to call or email as we are happy to co-ordinate smaller groups when possible at $150 each.
All equipment included excluding jigs which are available for purchase onboard or bring along your favourites.
